FAQ

Why did you start Forte Financial Planning?

Brian founded Forte Financial Planning so he could better serve his clients by providing comprehensive financial planning.  As an independent financial advisor, Brian does not work for a specific company or product, which means he is not tied to any particular financial products, services or tools. This allows Brian to provide independent and comprehensive advice based solely on your unique financial situation and goals.  His affiliation with LPL Financial provides Brian with access to best-in-class tools and resources that allow him to provide confidence in his client’s financial future.

How does Forte Financial Planning utilize LPL Financial?

As an independent financial advisor, I affiliated with LPL Financial to bring you the best possible service and support. This relationship allows me to maintain my independence as an advisor, while still benefiting from the resources and expertise of a large, established financial firm.

One of the key benefits of this alignment is that it provides you with access to a wide range of investment products and services. LPL Financial offers stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and alternative investments, which means we can create a customized investment strategy that is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

In addition, LPL Financial provides advanced technology solutions that help me manage your accounts more efficiently and effectively. This includes tools for client management, financial planning, and investment analysis, which means I can spend more time focusing on what is most important: helping you pursue your financial goals.

Finally, LPL Financial provides compliance support to help me navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the financial services industry. This ensures that we are always operating within the bounds of the regulatory landscape.

Overall, my choice to align with LPL Financial is just one way I am working to bring you the best possible service and support. My primary goal is to help you pursue your financial goals, and LPL Financial helps me do that more effectively. For the “are there penalties section” please remove the language related to reimbursing of transfer fees.

Do I need to liquidate my existing holdings at my prior firm when transferring to Forte Financial Planning?

In most cases you will not need to liquidate any existing holdings.  Investments will be transferred ‘in-kind’ meaning that the exact investments you currently hold will be transferred as-is. If there is any need for liquidation it will be discussed prior to transfer.

Are there penalties or fees when transferring investments to LPL?

There are no penalties to move your funds but most firms will charge a ‘transfer fee’ or an 'account closing fee’ when you transfer.  These fees can range anywhere between $95-$150.  I never want a nominal fee to be a factor when transferring accounts.  I will reimburse for any transfer fees.
